RECOMMENDATION:
It is recommended that the Board of Supervisors:
Approve and authorize the Director of Health or Assistant Director of Health to execute a Mental Health Services Agreement between the County of Monterey and United Way Monterey County for the term retroactive to July 1, 2022 to June 30, 2023 for the provision of family education and mental health services in the amount of $50,000 for Fiscal Year (FY) 2022-23, for a total Agreement amount not to exceed $50,000.

SUMMARY/DISCUSSION:
United Way Monterey County and their services were selected as part of the Monterey County Behavioral Health Bureau's (MCBH) Mental Health Services Act (MHSA) funded Innovation Project, titled "Micro-Innovation Grants to Engage Latino Populations." This Innovation Project was approved by the Monterey County Board of Supervisors and California State Mental Health Services Oversight and Accountability Commission (MHSOAC). The approved plan included a budget of $1,240,000 to support small, time-limited, community driven innovation activities with the intent to educate and connect unserved and underserved Latino communities in Monterey County with needed mental health services. MHSA funds supply the entirety of this Innovation Project, inclusive of administrative oversight, and all INN funds are approved for expenditure by the MHSOAC.
