Title: a. RECOMMENDATION:
It is recommended that the Board of Supervisors:

a) Approve and authorize the Chief Probation Officer to sign an Agreement with Rancho Cielo, Incorporated for an estimated reimbursement in the amount of $11,750 for lunch services to the Rancho Cielo Youth Build Program for the period April 12, 2016 to June 30, 2017; and

b) Authorize the Chief Probation Officer to sign up to three (3) future amendments to this Agreement where the amendments do not exceed ten percent (10%) of the original contract amount and do not significantly change the scope of work

SUMMARY:
The proposed Agreement defines the responsibilities for Rancho Cielo's reimbursement of lunches provided by the Probation Department for participants in Rancho Cielo's Youth Build program.

DISCUSSION:
Probation has been heavily involved in the development of Rancho Cielo and its juvenile programs since inception and is a close partner and supporter of the organization.

The Youth Build Construction Academy is a program managed by Rancho Cielo, where students, age 17-25, are engaged in classroom, vocational activities and workshops providing employment readiness and skills in construction jobs. As part of their day, lunches are provided at no cost to program participants.

Rancho Cielo is contracting with the County of Monterey to provide the service and reimburse the Probation Department for the cost of lunches for the program. Probation's Youth Cent...
