a. Approve and authorize the Director of Health Services or designee to execute a retroactive Amendment No. 1 to AGREEMENT No. A-17430 the Ambulance Services Provider Agreement between the County of Monterey and American Medical Response West (AMR), to clarify maximum allowable standby rates for Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Life Support (ALS) Special Events Coverage and replace Exhibit B with updated Exhibit B-1; and
b. Approve and authorize the Director of Health Services or designee to execute up to three future amendments that do not significantly change the scope of services.

RECOMMENDATION:
It is recommended that the County of Monterey Board of Supervisors:
a. Approve and authorize the Director of Health Services or designee to execute a retroactive Amendment No. 1 to AGREEMENT No. A-17430 the Ambulance Services Provider Agreement between the County of Monterey and American Medical Response West (AMR), to clarify maximum allowable standby rates for Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Life Support (ALS) Special Events Coverage and replace Exhibit B with updated Exhibit B-1; and
b. Approve and authorize the Director of Health Services or designee to execute up to three future amendments that do not significantly change the scope of services.
SUMMARY:
The Director of Health Services seeks approval to execute Amendment No. 1 to the Ambulance Service Provider Agreement with American Medical Response West (AMR). This amendment clarifies that County-approved ALS and BLS standby rates for Special Events Coverage represent maximum allowable charges and provides AMR authority to charge any amount up to, but not more than, those rates. The amendment also replaces Exhibit B with updated Exhibit B-1 to reflect these maximum rates.
