RECOMMENDATION:
It is recommended that the Board of Supervisors authorize the Chair of the Board of Supervisors to sign Cooperative Law Enforcement Agreement No. 11-LE-11051360-229, between the Monterey County Sheriff's Office and United States Department of Agriculture, Forest Service, Los Padres National Forest, for the period beginning October 1, 2012 through September 30, 2013, in the amount of $10,000.
 
SUMMARY/DISCUSSION:
This Cooperative Agreement was originally signed in March of 1973 and has been revised and periodically updated since that date. The Cooperative Law Enforcement Agreement, Financial and Operating Plan, covers the service request from the Forest Service for Sheriff's   personnel   to conduct   controlled   substance eradication operations in the Los Padres National Forest. It provides for reimbursement to the Sheriff's Office for the eradication of controlled substances activities.
 
OTHER AGENCY INVOLVEMENT:
The County Administrative Office has reviewed this report.
 
FINANCING:
Approval  of  the  recommended  action  will  have  no  impact  on  the  General  Fund Contribution. Revenues and associated costs for patrol activities have been included in the fiscal year 2012-13 budget.
