RECOMMENDATION:

It is recommended the Board of Supervisors authorize the Purchasing Manager for Natividad Medical Center (NMC) to execute Renewal and Amendment No. 3 to the Agreement (A-12264) with First Alarm for Alarm and Closed Circuit Television Maintenance, Testing and Monitoring Services at NMC, extending the Agreement to June 30, 2014 and adding $90,000 for a revised total Agreement amount not to exceed $320,000 in the aggregate.

SUMMARY/DISCUSSION:

First Alarm will provide all quarterly and annual inspection, testing, maintenance, and repair services monthly for a period of four months for fire detection, alarm, and suppression systems as per the Joint Commission, NFPA 25, NFPA 72, Title 22, Title 24, and all other applicable local, state, and federal regulations and codes.

The fire detection, alarm, and suppression systems are located in multiple buildings consisting of over 600,000 square feet of building space, and serve patient care areas throughout the hospital, as well as staff areas, the data server room, and the kitchen.

OTHER AGENCY INVOLVEMENT:

County Counsel has reviewed and approved this Renewal and Amendment No. 3 as to legal form and risk provisions. Auditor-Controller has reviewed and approved this Renewal and Amendment No. 3 as to fiscal provisions.
