RECOMMENDATION:
It is recommended that the Board of Supervisors consider adoption of a recommendation from the Legislative Committee to support and authorize a support letter on Assembly Bill 3233 (Addis) Oil and gas: operations: restrictions: local authority.

SUMMARY:
The Legislative Committee met on May 13, 2024, and recommended that the Board support and authorize a letter of support on Assembly Bill (AB) 3233 (Addis) Oil and gas: operations: restrictions: local authority.

DISCUSSION:
The Legislative Committee recommends that the Board support AB 3233 (Addis) Oil and gas: operations: restrictions: local authority. AB 3233 would authorize a local entity, by ordinance, to limit or prohibit oil and gas operations or development in its jurisdiction, as provided, notwithstanding any other law or any notice of intention, supplemental notice, well stimulation permit, or similar authorization issued by the supervisor or district deputy.
