Title: a. RECOMMENDATION:
It is recommended that the Board of Supervisors:
a. Authorize the Director of Health or Assistant Director of Health to accept a Grant entitled "Behavioral Health County and Tribal Planning Grant" from Department of Health Care Services' (DHCS) Behavioral Health Continuum Infrastructure Program ("BHCIP"), to fund Monterey County behavioral health infrastructure expansion planning, in the amount of
$150,000 for Fiscal Years (FY) 2021-23; and
b. Authorize the Director of Health or Assistant Director of Health to execute the BHCIP Grant with DHCS for a total amount of $150,000 for the grant period January 3, 2022 through December 31, 2022.

SUMMARY/DISCUSSION:
DHCS has awarded the Monterey County Health Department, Behavioral Health Bureau a 12- month, $150,000 grant. The grant is entitled "Behavioral Health County and Tribal Planning Grant". This supplemental funding will be used to create a plan to identify current gaps in Behavioral Health Services for at-risk clients needing inpatient facility-based recovery services. The focus shall be on bringing County residents back from placements statewide, assess supported step-down housing and treatment options, and consider strategies for filling unmet needs.
