Receive the Monterey County Fish and Game Advisory Commission 2023 Annual Report to the Board of Supervisors.

Report

RECOMMENDATION:

It is recommended that the Board of Supervisors receive the Monterey County Fish and Game Advisory Commission 2023 Annual Report.

SUMMARY/DISCUSSION:

The Monterey County Fish and Game Advisory Committee was established by a Board Order on June 20, 1947, to act in an advisory capacity to the County of Monterey Board of Supervisors (Board) on the expenditure of Fish and Game funds.  County of Monterey Resolution No. 81-239 adopted by the Board on April 28, 1981 (Resolution), created the Monterey County Fish and Game Advisory Commission (Commission), and set the rules and regulations for the operation of the Commission. 

The Commission is charged with submitting an annual report to the Board of Supervisors summarizing the Commission’s activities for the prior year.

Staff requests the Board receive the Monterey County Fish and Game Advisory Commission 2023 Annual Report (Attachment A).

OTHER AGENCY INVOLVEMENT:

The Department of Public Works, Facilities, & Parks serves as staff to the Commission.  The report was reviewed for accuracy by the Commission Chair.  The Office of County Counsel has reviewed and approved the report.

FINANCING:

Commissioners serve without compensation other than for reimbursement of reasonable and necessary expenses incurred for travel, lodging, and meals while on official business. Reimbursement is subject to the approval of the Director of Public Works, Facilities, & Parks, the Department Head designated by the Board of Supervisors.

BOARD OF SUPERVISORS STRATEGIC INITIATIVES:
