In January, 2015, Natividad Medical Center (‘NMC”) received designation as a Level II Trauma Center by the Monterey County Emergency Medical Services Agency following the development of a comprehensive trauma care program that meets all required standards for performing high quality trauma services to treat the most severe and critical injuries.  The Trauma Center program is a multi-year investment that benefits patients, families, and the entire community.  This commitment required the hiring of specialized personnel, procurement of equipment, and establishment of new services to clinically, operationally, and financially succeed as a Trauma Center.  This report to the Board of Supervisors highlights the progress and status of the Trauma Center program since its designation.
