a. Approve and authorize the Director of the Department of Social Services to sign Amendment #1 to Agreement #5010-174 with Meals on Wheels of the Salinas Valley to provide home delivered meals to seniors in the Salinas, North County and South County areas adding $92,519 for a new contract total of $517,836; and
b. Authorize the Director of the Department of Social Services to sign up to three (3) amendments to the agreement where the total amendments do not exceed 10% ($51,783) of the original contract amount and do not significantly change the scope of work.

RECOMMENDATION:
It is recommended that the Board of Supervisors:
a. Approve and authorize the Director of the Department of Social Services to sign Amendment #1 to Agreement #5010-174 with Meals on Wheels of the Salinas Valley to provide home delivered meals to seniors in the Salinas, North County and South County areas adding $92,519 for a new contract total of $517,836; and
b. Authorize the Director of the Department of Social Services to sign up to three (3) amendments to the agreement where the total amendments do not exceed 10% ($51,783) of the original contract amount and do not significantly change the scope of work.
SUMMARY/DISCUSSION:
This agreement with Meals on Wheels of the Salinas Valley (MOWSV) improves the health and well-being of seniors who cannot shop or cook for themselves by delivering nutritious meals to their homes, enabling them to age in place and be as independent as possible. This amendment is in response to an increase in federal funding which is being passed through to the Contractor.
OTHER AGENCY INVOLVEMENT:
The Auditor-Controller and Purchasing have reviewed and approved this Agreement. County Counsel has approved the agreement as to form.
FINANCING:
Funding is provided by the Federal Older Americans Act. Sufficient appropriations and estimated revenues for 001-5010-SOC010-8268 are included in the FY 2021-22 Adopted Budget.
