Report
RECOMMENDATION:
It is recommended that the Board of Supervisors:

a. Receive and accept the County of Monterey Website Redesign Report, which describes the background and process underlying redesign of the County's website portal, the templates developed for individual departments to create website content, and other added website features; and
b. Approve the overall design and structure of the new Monterey County website, as described in the report and visually presented to the Board.

SUMMARY:
The Information Technology Department (ITD), along with Vision Internet, Inc., has developed a new website design for the County of Monterey (County). The new design resulted from discussions with internal staff from multiple County departments; it is also based upon public outreach, utilizing survey responses from close to four hundred residents, businesses, and visitors. These responses contained suggestions about County website content, presentation, and functionality. The report attached describes in further detail how the project was developed and what criteria formed the basis for website design. The website has been developed looking to the future, incorporating dynamic functionality and easily adaptable content management. It incorporates processes for continued improvement through public input.
