a. Authorize the Contracts and Purchasing Officer or their designee to execute a non-standard agreement with Correctcare-Integrated Health Inc, in an amount not to exceed $1,000, for adjudication services of incarcerated persons medical claims, effective January 1, 2024, to December 31, 2024; and
b. Authorize the Contracts and Purchasing Officer or their designee to sign up to four (4) amendments, where the scope of work does not significantly change and where the total amount of the amendments does not exceed 10% of the original contract amount.

RECOMMENDATION:
It is recommended that the Board of Supervisors:
a. Authorize the Contracts and Purchasing Officer or their designee to execute a non-standard agreement with Correctcare-Integrated Health Inc, in an amount not to exceed $1,000, for adjudication services of incarcerated persons medical claims, effective January 1, 2024, to December 31, 2024; and
b. Authorize the Contracts and Purchasing Officer or their designee to sign up to four (4) amendments, where the scope of work does not significantly change and where the total amount of the amendments does not exceed 10% of the original contract amount.
SUMMARY/DISCUSSION:
The Monterey County Sheriff's Office (MCSO) ensures medical services are provided for incarcerated persons (IP) in the County of Monterey. After medical services have been provided to IP, a claim is submitted from Natividad Medical Center and County of Monterey, Department of Social Services and MCSO. MCSO submits their claim to Correctcare-Intergrated Health Inc., for review and adjudication. Once the review/adjudication has been completed the claim for the IP is paid.
Correctcare-Intergrated Health Inc. is a third-party administrator for corrections, handling claims for more than 100,000 IP. They control costs through claims adjudication, utilization management, and access to discounts through their provider network.
