a. Approve and authorize the Director or Assistant Director of the Department of Social Services to sign an agreement with Alisal Union School District for $109,100, to provide congregate meals to seniors in Salinas for the period of July 1, 2022 through June 30, 2023, including nonstandard indemnification terms; and
b. Authorize the Director or Assistant Director of the Department of Social Services to sign up to three (3) amendments to this agreement where the total amendments do not exceed 10% ($10,910) of the contract amount and do not significantly change the scope of work.

RECOMMENDATION:
It is recommended that the Board of Supervisors:
a. Approve and authorize the Director or Assistant Director of the Department of Social Services to sign an agreement with Alisal Union School District for $109,100, to provide congregate meals to seniors in Salinas for the period of July 1, 2022 through June 30, 2023, including nonstandard indemnification terms; and
b. Authorize the Director or Assistant Director of the Department of Social Services to sign up to three (3) amendments to this agreement where the total amendments do not exceed 10% ($10,910) of the contract amount and do not significantly change the scope of work.
SUMMARY/DISCUSSION:
This agreement was awarded to the Alisal Union School District (AUSD) through a formal Request For Proposal (RFP #10785) process in April 2021. Contract services provide congregate meals to seniors living in the Salinas area. Meals at group dining locations are currently offered in accordance with safety protocols during the COVID-19 pandemic and practices may change as needed throughout the fiscal year.
The Department is recommending approval of this Agreement with nonstandard indemnity terms to allow DSS to continue to work with AUSD to provide congregate meals within this service area.
