RECOMMENDATION:
It is recommended that the Board of Supervisors:
a. Authorize the Contracts and Purchasing Officer or their designee to execute a non-standard Agreement with Lexipol, LLC, for a subscription to the Annual Law Enforcement and Corrections Policy Manual and Daily Training Bulletins, effective July 1, 2024, through June 30, 2027, for a total amount not to exceed $232,340.

SUMMARY/DISCUSSION:
The Monterey County Sheriff's Officer (MCSO) has been utilizing Lexipol subscriptions to the Annual Law Enforcement Policy Manual and Daily Training Bulletins and Annual Corrections Policy Manual and Daily Training Bulletins, since November 1, 2013. MCSO requires access to comprehensive policies and law updates to limit agency risk and enhance personnel safety. Lexipol provides access to the most recent policy updates and provides a service where customized policies are kept up to date with both national and California-specific policies.

Lexipol provides law enforcement agencies with clear, effective policy manuals that are up to date with industry standards and best practices, content specific to the laws and practices of California, and timely updates in response to new legislation.

Lexipol is the industry leader for policy development and management for law enforcement agencies across the country.

MCSO recommends the approval of the non-standard Agreement with Lexipol for a three-year term.

OTHER AGENCY INVOLVEMENT:
The Office of County Counsel has reviewed and advised on this Agreement as to legal form. The Auditor-Controller has reviewed and approved the Agreement as to fiscal provisions. The Probation Department supports th...
