RECOMMENDATION:
It is recommended that the County of Monterey Board of Supervisors:
Approve and authorize the Director of Health Services or designee to execute Amendment No. 1 to non-Standard Agreement A-16733 with Gender Health Training Institute, LLC to extend the term for one (1) additional Fiscal Year and add $755,000 of additional services, for a revised total Agreement amount not to exceed $845,000 and a revised new term of March 4, 2024 through June 30, 2026.

SUMMARY/DISCUSSION:
Gender Health Training Institute, LLC provides gender affirming education, resources, and training for mental health and medical providers, behavioral health agencies, and hospitals to improve their ability to provide professional, ethnical, and knowledgably care to transgender and gender expansive clients and their families across their lifespan. The Institute is dedicated to helping clinicians provide gender affirming care to transgender, non-binary, and gender expansive clients that includes a special focus on couples and families, as well as communities and various systems of care.

On May 25, 2023, the County of Monterey Behavioral Health Bureau received approval from the Mental Health Services Oversight and Accountability Commission (MHSOAC) for the “Rainbow Connections” Mental Health Services Act (MHSA) Innovation Plan.
