a. Approve and authorize the County Purchasing Agent or designee to execute a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with the Monterey County Office of Education (MCOE) for the shared costs related to the Children’s Council coordination services for a term retroactive to July 1, 2026 through June 30, 2027, for a reimbursable amount of up to $14,050; and
b. Authorize the County Purchasing Agent or designee to execute future amendments to the MOU, provided that these amendments do not exceed an aggregate amount of $200,000 per fiscal year and fall within the signing authority of the County Purchasing Agent, subject to review and approval from County Counsel.

RECOMMENDATION:
It is recommended that the Board of Supervisors:
a. Approve and authorize the County Purchasing Agent or designee to execute a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with the Monterey County Office of Education (MCOE) for the shared costs related to the Children’s Council coordination services for a term retroactive to July 1, 2026 through June 30, 2027, for a reimbursable amount of up to $14,050; and

SUMMARY:
The County of Monterey contracts with United Way Monterey County to provide coordination and technical administrative support for the Monterey County Children’s Council. The four agencies on the Council’s Executive Committee - Probation Department, Department of Social Services (DSS), Health Department, and Monterey County Office of Education (MCOE) - share the annual contract cost of up to $56,200.
