RECOMMENDATION:
It is recommended that the Board of Supervisors:
Authorize the Auditor-Controller to amend the Fiscal Year (FY) 2013-14 Health Department Public Guardian HEA008 Budget to increase estimated revenue and appropriation in the amount of $150,000 (4/5th vote required).

SUMMARY:
The Health Department requests an increase in estimated revenue and appropriation in the amount of $150,000 due to unanticipated expenditures and revenues for Public Guardian HEA008.

DISCUSSION:
This amendment will provide adequate appropriations to cover increased costs and revenue associated with unanticipated County Counsel charges for the Public Guardian Division in FY 2013-14.  Due to several client cases requiring extraordinary County Counsel involvement, the department is requesting an increase in appropriations and a corresponding increase in revenue.  This increase will not impact the department's budgeted FY 2013-14 General Fund Contribution.

OTHER AGENCY INVOLVEMENT:
This item was presented and approved at the June 20, 2014 Budget Committee meeting.

FINANCING:
The increased estimated revenue and appropriation will not impact the Adopted FY 2013-14 Health Department Public Guardian HEA008 General Fund Contribution.
