RECOMMENDATION:
It is recommended that the Board of Supervisors:
Approve and authorize the Director of Health or Assistant Director of Health to execute an Agreement with Walmart, Inc. to provide and administer immunizations to Monterey County employees for the period retroactive from September 30, 2019 to September 29, 2020, at no cost to the County.

SUMMARY/DISCUSSION:
The Monterey County Employee Wellness Program ("Wellness Program") was created in 1985 as a partnership between management, unions, and employees to address three main areas: Employee health and safety, Health insurance costs, and Worker's Compensation claims. The mission of the Wellness Program is to promote work environments, policies, and programs that preserve the health of employees and promote their ability to excel at their jobs while honoring the importance of family and community.

This Agreement with Walmart, Inc. will provide an opportunity for the Wellness Program to continue to offer immunizations to the employees of Monterey County. Additionally, the approval of this Agreement will ensure the continuation of providing County employees the education and tools necessary to improve their health and quality of life. The start date of the Agreement is retroactive to September 30, 2019 due to the time it took to negotiate the terms with the vendor for the Agreement.
