RECOMMENDATION:
It is recommended that the Board of Supervisors:
a. Approve a Grant Award of six (6) electric vehicle (EV) vouchers, two (2) for the Agricultural Commissioner (AC), two (2) for the Resource Management Agency (RMA), two (2) for the County Administration Office (CAO); and
b. Authorize the Fleet Manager to accept the vouchers and administer the documents to secure the EVs from the Monterey Bay Unified Air Pollution Control District (MBUAPCD) for the FY 15 AB2766 Grant.

SUMMARY/DISCUSSION:
On March 19, 2014, the District Board of MBUAPCD authorized this year's AB2766 Motor Vehicle Emission Reduction Grant Program. On September 17, 2014, the Board awarded approximately $1.4 million for selected projects. On November 14, 2014, the AC's Office, RMA and CAO were awarded two (2) EVs each, for a total of six (6) vehicles. These vehicles will replace an equal number of gas-powered vehicles that will be permanently removed from the County fleet, in an effort to reduce carbon emissions into the atmosphere.

None.

FINANCING:
AB2766 grants are reimbursement grants payable to Grantees for expenses incurred in accordance with signed grant Agreements. The grant funds the purchase of six EVs. The amount of the reimbursement shall not exceed $27,000 per vehicle in District funds from the AB2766 Motor Vehicle Emission Reduction Program.
