RECOMMENDATION:
The Board of Supervisors is asked to receive the Monterey County Fish and Game Advisory Commission 2021 Annual Report.

SUMMARY/DISCUSSION:
The Monterey County Fish and Game Advisory Committee was established by Board Order on June 20, 1947, to act in an advisory capacity to the Monterey County Board of Supervisors on the expenditure of Fish and Game funds. Resolution No. 81-239, adopted by the Board of Supervisors on April 28, 1981, created the Monterey County Fish and Game Advisory Commission and set the rules and regulations for the operation of the Commission.

The Commission is charged with submitting an annual report to the Board of Supervisors by July 30th each year summarizing the Commission's activities for the prior year. Staff requests the Board receive the Monterey County Fish and Game Advisory Commission 2021 Annual Report (Attachment A).

OTHER AGENCY INVOLVEMENT:
The Department of Public Works, Facilities, & Parks serves as staff to the Commission.

FINANCING:
Commissioners serve without compensation other than for reimbursement of reasonable and necessary expenses incurred for travel, lodging, and meals while on official business. Reimbursement is subject to the approval of the Director of Public Works, Facilities, & Parks, the Department Head designated by the Board of Supervisors.

BOARD OF SUPERVISORS STRATEGIC INITIATIVES:
The recommended action supports the Board of Supervisors Administration strategic initiative. The Commission's advisory role to the Board of Supervisors serves to promote, protect, and preserve the area's fish and wildlife resources and local environment. The annual report provided by the Commission also promotes the goal of transparency in government.
