Title: a. RECOMMENDATION:
It is recommended that the Board of Supervisors:
a. Approve and authorize the Director of Health Services or designee to execute a Standard Agreement with Sun Street Centers retroactive to July 1, 2023, for the provision of building a Recovery Center in Salinas to address the unmet Substance Use Disorder (SUD) needs of Teens and Adults for a total Agreement not to exceed $1,000,000 for the term beginning July 1, 2023 through June 30, 2024; and

SUMMARY/DISCUSSION:
Sun Steet Centers provides residential and outpatient SUD services for Medi-Cal eligible AB109, Drug Treatment Court, and CalWorks eligible residents of the County of Monterey.

Sun Street Centers is in the process of a capital improvement project and renovating a recovery center in Salinas that will help address the unmet needs of Teens and Adults. The recovery center will allow the expansion of Intensive Outpatient counseling services for teens referred to outpatient services and men and women waiting to get into withdrawal management and for family empowerment and aftercare recovery services.
