Title: a. RECOMMENDATION:

a. It is recommended the Board of Supervisors ratify and authorize the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) for Natividad Medical Center (NMC) to execute the Affiliation Agreement for the Family Medicine Residency Program at NMC with The Regents of the University of California on behalf of the University of California, San Francisco (UCSF) School of Medicine for the purpose of continuing the established relationship that provides support and enhancement of the residency program at NMC for the period November 1, 2012 through October 31, 2017; and
b. Accept non-standard indemnity provision, as recommended by the CEO for NMC.

SUMMARY/DISCUSSION:

The Natividad Family Medicine Residency Program has been in existence since the early 1970's. The program graduated its first residents in 1975. UCSF has been the sponsoring institution since the beginning of the program. The affiliation with UCSF supports and enhances the residency program by providing a stable source of interested medical students a link to the school's library and the tremendous resources of its august institution, offering sources for faculty development, as well as financial support of $30,000 per contract year to support the operating expenses of the program.
