RECOMMENDATION:
It is recommended that the Budget Committee receive a report on Key Capital Improvement Projects managed by the Public Works, Facilities and Parks Department (PWFP) for the period of January 1, 2026 through June 30, 2026 (Fiscal Year 2025-26, quarters Q3 and Q4).
SUMMARY:
This report provides a status update of key capital improvement projects managed by PWFP that were completed or had significant activity during the third and fourth quarters of Fiscal Year (FY) 2025-26. During this period, there were 51 active capital projects totaling $699.3 million: 28 Public Works (Road and Bridge) projects at $280.5 million and 23 Facilities projects at $418.8 million.
DISCUSSION:
Capital improvement projects are non-reoccurring, exceed $100,000 and have an estimated useful life of at least five years, resulting in long-term assets for the County of Monterey. Active capital improvement projects managed by PWFP are summarized in Attachment A. Additional details are provided in Attachments B & C for selected completed projects and those with significant activity during the third quarter (Q3) and fourth quarter (Q4) of FY 2025-26.

This report will be presented to the Capital Improvement Committee on September 14, 2026
