RECOMMENDATION:
It is recommended that the County of Monterey Board of Supervisors:
Approve and authorize the Director of Health Services, or designee, to execute Amendment No. 5 to Agreement with Medical Doctor Associates (MDA), d.b.a Cross Country Locums, for the provision of locum tenens healthcare provider services, amending service rates, updating the parties' Business Associate Agreement, and extending the term for an additional two (2) years for a new term of July 1, 2015 through June 30, 2026, with no change to the total contract amount of $1,720,000.

SUMMARY/DISCUSSION:
The Health Department Clinic Services Bureau (Clinic Services) operates ten community clinic sites designated as Federally Qualified Health Centers (FQHCs) which provide preventive, primary, and specialty medical care services.

Clinic Services engages in Locum Tenens services in times of critical medical need when sufficient permanent staffing is not available in clinic due to circumstances such as resignations, extended leaves and increases in demand for services. The Board of Supervisors approved Agreement No. A-12773 on June 23, 2015 with Medical Doctor Associates (MDA) for the provision of temporary physician, nurse practitioner, and physician assistant health care placement services to Clinic Services.
