RECOMMENDATION:
It is recommended that the Board of Supervisors:
Approve and authorize the Director of Health or Assistant Director of Health to execute Amendment No. 5 to the Alcohol and/or Drug Service Agreement A-14018 with Community Human Services for the provision of alcohol and drug recovery services to revise the FY 2020-21 drug treatment rates retroactive to July 1, 2020, with no change to the Agreement term of July 1, 2018 - June 30, 2021 for total Agreement amount of $14,135,440.

SUMMARY/DISCUSSION:
The County currently has Agreement A-14018 for a current contracted dollar amount of $14,135,440 with Community Human Services. Community Human Services (CHS) provides residential and non-residential alcohol and drug recovery services for Medi-Cal, Non-Medi-Cal, Drug Treatment Court and CalWORKS eligible Monterey County residents. CHS continues to provide services to Monterey County men and women age 18 or older with primary addiction to drug(s). Intravenous drug users and HIV+ clients will receive priority admission.

This Amendment No. 5 revises the FY 2020-21 drug treatment rates to reflect FY 2020-21 Drug Medi-Cal rates published by the Department of Health Care Services (DHCS) and is retroactive to July 1, 2020 because DHCS did not release the rates in time to amend the contract prior to the beginning of the Fiscal Year 2020-21 start date.
