Title: a. RECOMMENDATION:
It is recommended that the Board of Supervisors:
a. Approve and authorize the Agricultural Commissioner to execute retroactively, on behalf of the County of Monterey, a Standard Agreement with the State of California Department of Food and Agriculture (CDFA) to perform work under the CDFA Weed Control Program for a period from May 1, 2020, through December 31, 2021, in the amount of $36,873.34; and
b. Support authorizing the Agricultural Commissioner, or Commissioner's designee, to sign up to three (3) Amendments to the Agreement where the Amendment does not significantly change the scope of work.

SUMMARY/DISCUSSION:
The CDFA routinely contracts with the Monterey County Agricultural Commissioner (MCAC) to provide specific services. The MCAC will participate in Weed abatement and management, pest inspection, quarantine and abatement along with program development and data management. The agreement was originally entered without proper processing due to COVID -19 delays which account for the request being retroactive to May 1, 2020.

The Agricultural Commissioner requests authorization to enter into the proposed State Standard Agreement (Attachment 1).

OTHER AGENCY INVOLVEMENT:
The Office of the County Counsel has approved the proposed Agreement as to form.
