STAFF RECOMMENDATION
Staff recommends that the Board of Supervisors allow a continuance to receive a presentation and conduct a public workshop to receive public input regarding the draft Sixth Cycle Housing Element.
SUMMARY
Staff requests a continuance to a date certain of June 11, 2024.
The County released its draft Sixth Cycle Housing Element for public review on May 6, 2024. During this review period of more than 30 days, the County is seeking feedback and comment on the draft Sixth Cycle Housing Element. The previous public review and comment period end date of June 6, 2024 is extended through June 11, 2024.
During the public review period, the Planning Commission conducted a public workshop on May 15, 2024. The Planning Commission continued the workshop to June 5, 2024, to allow more time for review of public comments and for staff to return to the Commission with certain data concerning the County's inclusionary housing ordinance (Chapter 18.40 of the Monterey County Code).
Staff recommends the Board of Supervisors continue the June 4, 2024 workshop to the date certain of June 11, 2024, to allow the Planning Commission to receive and consider additional public comments as much as possible during the public review period and for staff to respond to the request for certain data on the County's inclusionary housing ordinance.
