Title: a. RECOMMENDATION:
It is recommended that the Board of Supervisors:
a. Approve and authorize the Chief Probation Officer to execute a non-standard Agreement with Planned Parenthood Mar Monte (PPMM) to provide program funding and training for Power Though Choice Program (PTC) for the term of July 1, 2022 to June 30, 2023; and
b. Authorize the Chief Probation Officer to sign associated documentation and future amendments to the Agreement where each amendment does not significantly alter the scope of services.

SUMMARY:
The Probation Department is recommending approval of a non-standard Agreement with Planned Parenthood Mar Monte to provide the Power Through Choice program at the Juvenile Hall and Youth Center for the term July 1, 2022 through June 30, 2023. Funding will be provided to the department by PPMM in an amount of up to $10,000 per site. In addition, PPMM will provide registrations for program trainings and if needed, technology to support the program. The funding, technology needs, and training registrations are provided for implementation support of the PTC program

DISCUSSION:
Planned Parenthood Mar Monte received grant funding from the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, Office of Population Affairs for the Sex Ed Equity Project to collaborate with community partners and agencies, with the purpose to co-implement an evidence-based, trauma informed sexual education program, Power Through Choice, for youth ages 13-18.
