Title: a. RECOMMENDATION:
It is recommended that the Board of Supervisors:
Approve and authorize the Director of Health to sign a Mental Health Services Agreement (FY 2014-15, FY 2015-16 and FY 2016-17) with Chamberlain's Children Center for the provision of mental health services in the amount of $204,696 for FY 2014-15, $204,696 for FY 2015-16 and $204,696 for FY 2016-17, for a total of $614,088; and
Authorize the Director of Health, to sign up to three future amendments to this Agreement where the amendments do not exceed ten percent (10%) of the original contract amount and do not significantly change the scope of work.

SUMMARY/DISCUSSION:
This new Mental Health Service Agreement with Chamberlain's Children Center ("Chamberlain's") replaces Agreement A-12287 which expires on June 30, 2014. Chamberlain's will continue to provide Room and Board services to Monterey County young adults in accordance with the client's individual education plan and other identified needs. Behavioral Health Bureau, as lead provider of mental health services to this population of referred students is administering room and board services and will seek reimbursement from the local Special Education Local Plan Area (SELPA). The goal of the program is to reduce inappropriate behavioral and/or psychiatric symptoms to a level of care whereby the youth can return home or move to a lower level of care.
