RECOMMENDATION:
 
It is recommended that the Board of Supervisors approve the Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) for Monterey County Probation Association Units M and N for the period July 1, 2011 through June 30, 2013.
 
SUMMARY/DISCUSSION:
 
On July 7, 2011, Monterey County Probation Association Units M and N ratified a tentative agreement with the County of Monterey. The terms and conditions of the tentative agreements were combined with the existing MOU and are now submitted for approval.
 
The Monterey County Probation Association Units M and N MOU provide for additional employee contributions to CalPERS, two-tier retirement system and other changes to wages and benefits.
 
OTHER AGENCY INVOLVEMENT:
 
The Monterey County Probation Association Units M and N members and staff contributed to the development of the MOU as presented.
 
FINANCING:
 
The estimated FY 12/13 savings to the County's general fund is $621,177. Through concessions, the County restored six (6) positions.
