Title: a. RECOMMENDATION:
It is recommended that the Board of Supervisors:
a. Authorize the Contracts/Purchasing Officer to sign Professional Service Agreement with Central Valley Toxicology for postmortem and human performance forensic toxicology testing services from July 1, 2014 to June 30, 2016 in the amount of $145,000; and
b. Authorize the Contracts/Purchasing Officer to sign future amendments without further approval by the Board of Supervisors, provided that any such amendments, either individually or cumulatively with other such amendments, shall be limited to very minor changes.

SUMMARY/DISCUSSION:
The Monterey County Sheriff's Office would like to contract Central Valley Toxicology (CVT) for laboratory services. CVT will provide postmortem and human performance forensic toxicology testing services. Conducting drug screen and/or alcohol screen and analyze is very important to the Monterey County Sheriff's Office, Coroner's Division because it helps our detectives process their cases in a timely manner. The amount of the agreement will be for $145,000, which will be divided between Fiscal Year (FY) 2014-15 and FY 2015-16. CVT will provide services from July 1, 2014 through June 30, 2016.

OTHER AGENCY INVOLVEMENT:
County Counsel and Auditor-Controller have reviewed and approved as to legal and fiscal provisions respectively.
