a. Approve and authorize the Director or designee of the Department of Social Services to sign an agreement with Monterey County Children and Families dba First 5 Monterey County to implement the CalWORKs Home Visiting Program, for the period of July 1, 2024, through June 30, 2025, in the amount of $843,860; and
b. Authorize the Director or designee of the Department of Social Services to sign up to three future amendments to this Agreement where the total amendments do not exceed 10% ($84,386) of the original contract amount, do not significantly change the scope of work, and do not exceed the maximum aggregate amount of $928,246.

RECOMMENDATION:
It is recommended that the Board of Supervisors:
a. Approve and authorize the Director or designee of the Department of Social Services to sign an agreement with Monterey County Children and Families dba First 5 Monterey County to implement the CalWORKs Home Visiting Program, for the period of July 1, 2024, through June 30, 2025, in the amount of $843,860; and

SUMMARY/DISCUSSION:
Through this agreement, First 5 Monterey County shall act as the lead agency for the CalWORKs Home Visiting Program working in collaboration with Subcontractors. The program will connect parents with necessary resources, improve their parenting skills through early educational learning and playing, and ensure that their children have a safe and nurturing environment that allows them to thrive and grow.
