RECOMMENDATION:
It is recommended that the Board of Supervisors approve the Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) for Monterey County Probation Association (MCPA) Units M & N for the period July 1, 2013 through June 30, 2016.
SUMMARY / DISCUSSION:
On September 27, 2013, MCPA Units M & N ratified a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with the County of Monterey. The terms and conditions of the MOU are now submitted for approval.
The MCPA Units M & N MOU provides for employee contributions to CalPERS and other changes to wages and benefits.
OTHER AGENCY INVOLVEMENT:
The MCPA Units M & N members and staff contributed to the development of the MOU as presented.
FINANCING:
The annualized cost for the MCPA agreement is $756,000 in FY 2013-14, $519,000 in FY 2014-15 and $495,000 in FY 2015-16 for the Probation Department. The cumulative impact of the MOU totals $1,770,000 by FY 2015-16. The costs for the FY 2013-14 and FY 2014-15 were included in the FY 2014-15 Adopted Budget.
