RECOMMENDATION:
It is recommended that the Board of Supervisors:
a. Receive a status report on the Long Range Planning Work Program; and
b. Provide direction to staff.

SUMMARY:
At the April 1, 2014 meeting on the annual report, the Board requested that staff return with possible amendments to the report on the status and implementation of the Long Range Planning Work Program task. In addition, Board Referral 2014.04 requested a more detailed explanation and supporting material on progress toward the development of certain General Plan implementation ordinances.

The Long Range Planning (LRP) Team is comprised of RMA-Planners as well as staff from other County land use agencies. The LRP Team is assigned with preparing and processing regulatory tasks, including 2010 General Plan implementation, Local Coastal Program update, County Code amendments to reflect changes in State laws, and referrals. A comprehensive Work Program has been developed to track the progress of these tasks.

The purpose of this report is to provide the Board with an overview of progress made on the LRP Work Program, and includes a summary matrix designed to give readers a quick assessment of where items are in the process. Engagement of stakeholders is a critical element of the work of LRP.
