Title: a. Approve and authorize the Director of the Department of Social Services to sign an agreement for $1,118,338 with ACTION Council of Monterey County to provide administration, leadership, quality assurance and coordination for Differential Response aka: Pathways to Safety, and the CalWORKs Family Stabilization Program, for the period July 1, 2014 through June 30, 2015; and b. RECOMMENDATION:
It is recommended that the Board of Supervisors:
a. Approve and authorize the Director of the Department of Social Services to sign an agreement for $1,118,338 with ACTION Council of Monterey County to provide administration, leadership, quality assurance and coordination for Differential Response aka: Pathways to Safety, and the CalWORKs Family Stabilization Program, for the period July 1, 2014 through June 30, 2015; and

SUMMARY/DISCUSSION:
This contract provides leadership and coordination for Differential Response aka: Pathways to Safety. Differential Response is a strategic way of responding to the reports of abuse and neglect received by Monterey County Family and Children's Services (FCS). This approach to evaluating and improving family and child well-being, improves a community's ability to keep children safe.
