RECOMMENDATION:

It is recommended the Board of Supervisors:

Authorize the Interim Chief Executive Officer for Natividad Medical Center (NMC) or a designee to execute Amendment No. 1 to the Agreement (A-17245) with Smith & Enright Landscaping, Inc. for landscaping and maintenance services, adding $173,000 to the payable amount for a revised total Agreement amount not to exceed $573,000, with no change to the Agreement term of April 1, 2025 through March 31, 2028.

SUMMARY:

Under the current Agreement, Smith & Enright Landscaping, Inc. provides routine landscaping and grounds maintenance services throughout the Natividad Medical Center (NMC) campus, including mowing, edging, pruning, weed control, irrigation system monitoring, debris removal, and general upkeep of landscaped areas. These services help maintain a safe, clean, functional, and visually appealing environment for patients, visitors, staff, and the public.

Approval of this Amendment will provide an additional $173,000 to support the continued provision of these essential services through the remainder of the existing Agreement term. Of the requested funding, $123,000 will be offset through a credit from the Capital Solar Project budget and applied directly to this local vendor, reducing the net impact on NMC’s operating budget and decreasing the County's budgetary liability under the existing vendor agreement.
