Title: a. Approve and authorize the Director of the Department of Social Services, or his designee, to sign Amendment #1 to PSA #879 with Shelter Outreach Plus adding $32,591.77 for homeless services in Monterey County, increasing the total contract amount to $128,472.77 for change in scope through December 31, 2013; and b. RECOMMENDATION:
It is recommended that the Board of Supervisors:
a. Approve and authorize the Director of the Department of Social Services, or his designee, to sign Amendment #1 to PSA #879 with Shelter Outreach Plus adding $32,591.77 for homeless services in Monterey County, increasing the total contract amount to $128,472.77 for change in scope through December 31, 2013; and
b. Authorize the Director of the Department of Social Services, or his designee, to sign up to (3) amendments to these agreements where the total amendments do not exceed 10% of the original contract amount, and do not significantly change the scope of work.

SUMMARY/DISCUSSION:
Shelter Outreach Plus is in the initial redesign stages of the Salinas I-HELP program. These funds will support the initial stages of the restructuring process of the I-HELP program in Salinas. The redesigned program will have the capacity to assist approximately 60 homeless men annually. New case management services will include individual and group counseling, medical services at the new Integrated Health Care Services site in Marina, and job and housing placements. Additionally, the funding will also be used to support housing services to 15 victims of a recent fire in Castroville.
