RECOMMENDATION:
It is recommended that the Board of Supervisors introduce, waive the reading, and set June 11, 2013, at 10:30 a.m., as the date and time to consider adoption of an ordinance amending section 12.24.020 of the Monterey County Code to establish a stop intersection on Pollock Lane at the north entrance to Pesante Road in Prunedale in the unincorporated area of the County of Monterey.
SUMMARY/DISCUSSION:
The County has received multiple public requests for a stop intersection on the north side of Pesante Road on Pollock Lane for the purpose of public safety where pedestrians are walking. A stop sign was installed by Caltrans on Pollock Lane at the south entrance to Pesante Road.
OTHER AGENCY INVOLVEMENT:
The Office of the County Counsel has approved the ordinance as to form. The California Highway Patrol concurs with this recommendation.
FINANCING:
There is no financial impact to the General Fund. Traffic control devices are paid from the Road Fund. The cost to install the necessary signing is estimated at $800.00. There are sufficient funds available in the Road Fund (Fund 002, Unit 8195) to finance this work.
