RECOMMENDATION:
It is recommended that the Board of Directors of the Monterey County Water Resources Agency:
Receive the 2024 Strategic Planning Workshop Update Report and provide direction to staff as appropriate.
SUMMARY/DISCUSSION:
The Monterey County Water Resources Agency (Agency) Board of Directors adopted a five-year Strategic Plan in December 2020 which outlined strategic initiatives through five goal categories. The Agency Board of Directors held an update workshop in January 2024 to review how those initiatives have been progressing as well as identification of current priorities and more in-depth description of the state of the Agency. The workshop report was prepared by the Strategic Plan Workshop facilitator, Baker Tilly and is now available for distribution.
The Planning Committee reviewed the draft workshop report and provided some feedback regarding integration of various Agency goals, meeting location to increase participation, increased stakeholder participation in the workshop, and allowing for more time ahead of the meeting to reflect and prepare for the activities. The full comments are included in the final report.
