RECOMMENDATION:

It is recommended the Board of Supervisors:

Authorize the Deputy Purchasing Agent for Natividad Medical Center (NMC) to execute Amendment No. 2 to the Agreement (A-11898) with FujiFilm Medical Systems USA Inc. for software/hardware support services, extending the Agreement for an additional three (3) year period for a revised full term of January 1, 2011 through August 30, 2018 and adding $105,715 (over three years) for a revised total Agreement amount not to exceed $344,292.

SUMMARY/DISCUSSION:

In 2010 NMC purchased radiology equipment from Fujifilm Medical Systems providing digital imaging, replacing the previous film based system. Services are necessary to maintain and repair the Fujifilm Medical System software and hardware equipment in the Radiology department. The imaging equipment coordinates with the Picture Archive and Communications System (PACS) Systems at NMC and provides scanning capability of previous film images converting them into digital format which can then be imported into PACS. The recommendation is to continue to extend these maintenance services with Fujifilm Medical Systems to ensure the equipment is maintained and repaired so it remains fully functional at all times.

OTHER AGENCY INVOLVEMENT:
