RECOMMENDATION:
It is recommended that the Board of Supervisors:
Approve the Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) for the Service Employees International Local 521 (SEIU) Units F, H, J and K for the period July 1, 2021 through June 30, 2024.
SUMMARY/DISCUSSION:
On October 5, 2021, SEIU Units F, H, J and K ratified a Tentative Agreement (TA) with the County of Monterey. The TA was considered and approved by the Board of Supervisors on October 12, 2021 in closed session. The full MOU is presented for formal approval action today.
The Service Employees International Local 521 (SEIU) Units F, H, J and K provides for changes to wages, benefits, leaves, holidays, and winter recess as presented.
OTHER AGENCY INVOLVEMENT:
SEIU Units F, H, J and K members and County of Monterey staff contributed to the development of the MOU as presented.
FINANCING:
Each County department absorbed the annualized cost of the SEIU agreement in their FY 2021-2022 and FY 2022-23 budgets. Amounts for remaining year of the MOU (FY 2023-2024) will be requested in next year’s recommended budget.
