a. Approve and authorize the Director of Health to sign Amendment No. 1 to Mental Health Services Agreement No. A-12729 with The Village Project, Inc. (TVP) to extend the term by one year through June 30, 2016 for the provision of mental health outreach and counseling services for an increased amount of $370,492 in Fiscal Year 2015-16 for a total Agreement amount not to exceed $726,736; and
b. Authorize the Director of Health to approve up to three future amendments to this Agreement where the amendments do not exceed ten percent (10%) of the original contract amount and do not significantly change the scope of work.

RECOMMENDATION:
It is recommended that the Board of Supervisors:
a. Approve and authorize the Director of Health to sign Amendment No. 1 to Mental Health Services Agreement No. A-12729 with The Village Project, Inc. (TVP) to extend the term by one year through June 30, 2016 for the provision of mental health outreach and counseling services for an increased amount of $370,492 in Fiscal Year 2015-16 for a total Agreement amount not to exceed $726,736; and

SUMMARY/DISCUSSION:
Since Fiscal Year 2008-09, the Monterey County Health Department, Behavioral Health Bureau, has contracted with The Village Project, Inc. (TVP) for the provision of mental health outreach and counseling services for Monterey County African-Americans and other unserved / underserved racial and ethnic group members and their families. TVP works in collaboration with other community-based organizations providing mental health services to ensure that services are culturally competent.
