a. Approve and authorize the Director of the Department of Social Services to sign Amendment #2 to the agreement with Bay Area Community Services (BACS) to operate the Salinas Housing Advancement, Resource and Education (SHARE) Center, extending the term through June 30, 2022 and adding $1,012,890 for a total contract amount of $1,455,338; and
b. Authorize the Director of the Department of Social Services to sign up to three (3) additional amendments to this agreement where the total amendments do not exceed 10% ($145,533) of the contract amount, and do not significantly change the scope of work.

RECOMMENDATION:
It is recommended that the Board of Supervisors:
a. Approve and authorize the Director of the Department of Social Services to sign Amendment #2 to the agreement with Bay Area Community Services (BACS) to operate the Salinas Housing Advancement, Resource and Education (SHARE) Center, extending the term through June 30, 2022 and adding $1,012,890 for a total contract amount of $1,455,338; and

SUMMARY/DISCUSSION:
This amendment allows for the continued operation of the regional emergency shelter and housing navigation center for families and individuals experiencing homelessness.
The Salinas Housing Advancement, Resource & Education (SHARE) Center, located at Laurel Drive, Salinas opened on May 28, 2021. The Center will serve up to 100 City and County residents experiencing homelessness and will provide services in a housing navigation center model, including emergency shelter and wraparound services with a Housing First approach.
