RECOMMENDATION:
It is recommended that the County of Monterey Board of Supervisors:
Approve and authorize the County Purchasing Agent or designee to execute Amendment No. 1 to Agreement No. A-16216 with Action Council of Monterey County, Inc. for the provision of community educational management and contracting for specialized services, to increase the amount by $100,000 for a new total Agreement amount of $450,000 and extend the term an additional three years for a new term of July 1, 2023 through June 30, 2029.

SUMMARY:
Approval of this Agreement will allow the Monterey County Health Department (MCHD) to continue its partnership with The Action Council of Monterey County, Inc. (ACMC), a nonprofit organization that develops public/private partnerships to address community needs. Through this agreement, ACMC will assist MCHD by securing professionals to provide specialized services, coordinating summits and trainings on public health topics, and supporting other related services as requested by the Director of Health Services.

DISCUSSION:
ACMC, established in 1994, is a nonprofit organization dedicated to creating public/private partnerships that address unmet needs within the community and promote economic and social justice. ACMC works to facilitate community dialogue, planning, and coordinated action on critical issues impacting residents.
