Title: a. Authorize the Resource Management Agency, CAO's office, and the Agricultural Commissioner to submit a grant application to the Monterey Bay Unified Air Pollution Control District (MBUAPCD) for the FY 15 AB2766 Grant Program, on behalf of the County of Monterey, up to the maximum amount of $200,000 each, for the purchase of up to five (5) electric vehicles; and b. Authorize the above-named entities to complete the grant application(s), execute the application forms and other documents required to apply for the grant.

RECOMMENDATION:
It is recommended that the Board of Supervisors:
a. Authorize the Resource Management Agency, CAO's office, and the Agricultural Commissioner to submit a grant application to the Monterey Bay Unified Air Pollution Control District for the FY 15 AB2766 Grant Program, on behalf of the County of Monterey, up to the maximum amount of $200,000 each, for the purchase of up to five (5) electric vehicles; and
b. Authorize the above-named entities to complete the grant application(s), execute the application forms and other documents required to apply for the grant.

SUMMARY:
Each year the MBUAPCD provides funding through its AB2766 Motor Vehicle Emission Reduction Grant Program to local jurisdictions for projects that will reduce vehicle emissions. The various County departments named above will prepare individual grant applications (rather than one County application per APCD's direction this FY) for the following:

*2 Electric Vehicles for RMA
*2 Electric Vehicles for the CAO's office
*1 Electric Vehicle for the Agricultural Commissioner's Office

These vehicles will replace an equal number of gas-powered vehicles that would be removed from the County fleet.

DISCUSSION:
On March 19, 2014, the District Board authorized this year's AB2766 Motor Vehicle Emission
Reduction Grant Program. On September 17, 2014, the Board will award approximately $1.4
