Receive the 2025 Annual County of Monterey Crop & Livestock Report from the Agricultural Commissioner's Office.
SUMMARY:

The Crop and Livestock Report state the condition, acreage, production, and value of unprocessed agricultural commodities produced in our County.
DISCUSSION:
The County of Monterey is ranked fourth in agricultural gross production value in California. Top commodities in our area include strawberries, leaf lettuce, broccoli, iceberg or head lettuce, and wine grapes. The cool coastal weather and warmer inland temperatures allow for the production of a wide diversity of high-quality crops. High consumer demand for our commodities keeps our county in the top five producing areas of the state.
This year's Crop and Livestock Report theme "25 Year of Organics", highlights how organic agriculture has grown into a trusted, nationally regulated system defined by strong standards, transparency, and an enforcement framework that protects the organic label and provides consumer confidence.
