RECOMMENDATION:
It is recommended that the Board of Supervisors:
Authorize the Auditor-Controller to amend the Fiscal Year 2023-24 Adopted Budget to increase appropriations and estimated revenues by $105,000 for the Office of the District Attorney, Fund 001, Appropriation Unit DIS001, financed by the receipt of Community Corrections Partnership (CCP) funds, in the amount of $105,000, for the Red Door Project (4/5ths Vote Required).

SUMMARY/DISCUSSION:
The Office of the District Attorney desires to partner with the Red Door Project, an interactive training designed for criminal justice and community leaders. The Project provides a provocative but balanced space for growing proficiency in fostering trust and establishing productive relationships across differences. Past partners include the University of California Davis, US Attorney's Office - District of Oregon and the FBI, Portland Division. The Project has been commissioned by the National Center for State Courts and endorsed by the California District Attorneys Association.

The DA requests the Board authorize the Auditor-Controller to make the necessary changes to the FY 2023-24 adopted budget, Fund 001, Appropriation Unit DIS001.

OTHER AGENCY INVOLVEMENT:
This action was recommended by the Budget Committee, on September 27. 2023, item number BC 23-117.

FINANCING:
Funds were approved by the CCP on July 27, 2023, there is no financial impact to the General Fund.
