RECOMMENDATION:

It is recommended the Board of Supervisors authorize and direct the Purchasing Manager authorize the Purchasing Manager for Natividad Medical Center ("NMC") to execute Renewal and Amendment No. 1 to the Agreement (A-12268) with Hartnell College Foundation to provide Hartnell Community College District with Grant funds to meet the direct costs of the Nursing Program of Hartnell Community College, exercising the first and second option to extend the Agreement to June 30, 2015 and adding $175,000 for the period July 1, 2013 to June 30, 2014 and adding $175,000 for the period July 1, 2014 to June 30, 2015 for a revised total Agreement amount not to exceed $525,000 in the aggregate.

SUMMARY:

Hartnell Community College District ("Hartnell") is the owner and operator of Hartnell Community College, which operates the Hartnell College Nursing and Allied Health Programs, an academic program which educates and trains registered nurses ("RN"s) and licensed vocational nurses ("LVN"s) (collectively "Nurses") for entry level nursing positions in local health care facilities, including without limitation NMC (the "Nursing Program").
