RECOMMENDATION:
It is recommended the Board of Supervisors authorize the Contracts/Purchasing Officer to sign the Professional Service Agreement with Honeywell for preventative maintenance and on-call emergency services at the Monterey County Sheriff’s Office, Public Safety Building and Jail, in the amount of $357,920 for the period of July 1, 2012 through June 30, 2015.

SUMMARY/DISCUSSION:
The Monterey County Sheriff’s Office has determined that it in the best interest of the County and the Sheriff’s Office, to obtain preventative maintenance and on-call emergency services which include but not limit to heating, ventilation, air conditioning and controls for the Public Safety Building and Jail.

This Agreement shall remain in effect three (3) years, retroactively from July 1, 2012 to June 30, 2015. The annual fee for preventative maintenance is $52,640. This represents the complete cost of service including equipment, labor, supervision, fuel, disposal and other incidents. The total cost of preventative maintenance for the term of the agreement will be $157,920. The remaining $200,000 of the agreement is reserved for on-call emergency service at the Public Safety Building and Jail.

OTHER AGENCY INVOLVEMENT:
County Counsel has reviewed and approved this Amendment/Agreement as to legal form and risk provisions. Auditor-Controller has reviewed and approved this Amendment/Agreement as to fiscal provisions.

FINANCING:
There is no increase in the General Fund Contribution as a result of this recommendation. The estimated annual contract amount is included in the Sheriff’s Office Fiscal Year (FY) 2012-13 Approved Budget and FY 2013-14 ...
