RECOMMENDATION/SUMMARY:
a. Approve the Director of the Monterey County Free Libraries (“MCFL”) or designee to accept a donation from the Estate of Amra Robbins of $50,000 for Carmel Valley Branch Library, and authorize the same to execute the donation acceptance form (Attachment B).
DISCUSSION:
The Monterey County Free Libraries received notification of a generous bequest in the estate of Amra Robbins, including a $50,000 gift for the Carmel Valley Branch Library. This gift will be used for the benefit of the Carmel Valley Branch Library.
OTHER AGENCY INVOLVEMENT:
County Counsel has reviewed this item and approved as to form. The Auditor Controller’s Office has reviewed and no budget action is needed at this time.
FINANCING:
Purchases from this bequest, as it is one-time revenue, are anticipated to last the branch library and the Carmel Valley community for many years, and will not be used to support staffing or other ongoing expenditures.
